Lots of taxis, fixed zone fares, and a walkable downtown. From Punta Langosta you need no transportation at all.
Where ships dock
- Punta Langosta (downtown San Miguel)
- International Pier (also called SSA)
- Puerta Maya
Getting to town
Punta Langosta is downtown: cross the pedestrian bridge and the main square is about a 5–10 minute walk. The International Pier and Puerta Maya are about 3 miles south of downtown, roughly 10–15 minutes by taxi.
Taxis are unmetered and priced by zone, per vehicle (up to 4), not per person. Reported fares from the southern piers to downtown range from about $8 to $15 per cab. Fares are posted at the piers. Agree on the fare and currency before you get in. No rideshare on the island.
Fares are as reported by the sources below and change often. Treat them as estimates.

Safety & tips
- You don't pick your pier; check which one your ship uses.
- If your tour meets at a southern pier and you dock at Punta Langosta (or the other way around), plan for a taxi.
- Photograph the posted fare board at the pier.

⏰ Back to the ship on time
From downtown, budget at least 15–20 minutes to get back to a southern pier, plus time to find a cab. Be back 30+ minutes before all-aboard.
Ship time can differ from local time. Your ship won't wait for independent travelers.
